Eddie Kingston was suspended by AEW recently for an altercation he had with Sammy Guevara in Minneapolis several weeks back.

Fan favourite, Eddie Kingston hasn’t been seen on AEW’s TV recently, which has come as a surprise to many as he one of the promotions most beloved babyfaces and was just a major part in the Blackpool Combat Club vs Jericho Appreciation Society storyline, a feud that was actually birthed from the rivalry between Chris Jericho & Eddie Kingston.

In recent days there has been some rumours floating around, alleging that Eddie Kingston & Sammy Guevera got into a physical confrontation backstage at one of the AEW TV, but the rumours were unconfirmed until now.

According to Dave Meltzer & backed up in a report by Fightful Select , Eddie Kingston was briefly suspended by AEW, his match with Sammy Guevara at All Out doesn’t seem to be happening and at least one segment building to the match has been scrapped.

“Rumors among talent that we’ve heard about said that Guevara and Kingston had developed heat and it devolved into an “altercation.” The word backstage was that Guevara made a comment about Kingston’s physique, and Kingston took a swing at him.”

PWInsider also provided a report which included them reaching out to Eddie Kingston for comment. Kingston told them:

“You know the truth. I wouldn’t lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional. That is the blind fact. He did what he did and the public can judge that but I know for a fact I was wrong.”

– Eddie Kingston

One of the reasons given for the altercation between the two men was that apparently Sammy Guevara made a comment about Eddie Kingstons physique.

Both reports do state that they heard Eddie Kingston is actually due back next week and has already completed his suspension now. Neither PWInsider or Fightful Select were able to confirm if the Sammy Guevara vs Eddie Kingston match has been removed from the All Out card but it does seem likely that would be the case. However, PWInsider did note that the Eddie Kingston vs. Sammy Guevara match has still been promoted regularly on AEW’s social media accounts over the last several weeks.
