The past few months have seen a number of changes both on-screen and behind the scenes within WWE, with longtime Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announcing his retirement leading to Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan being named co-CEOs, as well as Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque returning to the company as both the Head of Talent Relations and Head of Creative.

Due to the changes behind the scenes under the new regime, names such as Ryan Katz and Road Dogg, both of whom were amongst those backstage apart of the Triple H regime that were released in January earlier this year, have returned to WWE, and it now appears as though another one of Levesque’s rind hand men is now also back with the company.

PWInsider are now reporting that Gabe Sapolsky has returned to WWE, and is set to work as a member of the creative team, although it is currently unknown whether he’ll work on the main roster or under the new era of NXT.

“Gabe Sapolsky is back with World Wrestling Entertainment, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple WWE sources. PWInsider.com is told that Sapolsky will be working on creative but we have not confirmed whether it is for the main roster or he is returning to WWE NXT.”

Sapolsky got his start in the wrestling business working for the original ECW, where he published their program and eventually became Paul Heyman’s assistant.

Additionally, Sapolsky was the first booker for Ring of Honor and founded both Dragon Gate USA and EVOLVE before going to work for WWE as a consultant for the NXT brand, following the company’s purchase of the EVOLVE promotion.

Prior to his exit earlier this year, Sapolsky had been working on  the creative side of NXT and producing segments for that brand, and thus Triple H may look to reinstate Sapolsky back into that position in order to get the company’s third brand back on track.
