Hiroshi Tanahashi is the Ace of New Japan Pro Wrestling. He has held the IWGP Heavyweight Championship eight times, the Intercontinental Championship twice and the United States Championship on three separate occasions.

On January 4, during the first night of NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event, Tanahashi teamed with Keiji Muto and Shota Umino in a winning effort against Tetsuya Naito, SANADA and BUSHI.

Now, in a post on his own blog, Hiroshi Tanahashi has revealed that he has signed a new contract with New Japan while visiting their offices. The exact terms of the contract are unknown but Tanahashi is a huge star in the company and fans will be delighted to know that he has extended his stay.

Tanahashi turned 46 in November of 2022 but still has no intention of calling it a day. He has reiterated his aim to regain championships and confirmed that he’ll only retire when the desire to win titles is no longer there.
