Jamie Hayter is believed to be injured which could prompt significant changes to the AEW women’s division.

This Sunday will see AEW put on their fifth annual ‘Double Or Nothing’ event, with one of the advertised matches for the show being Jamie Hayter defending her women’s title against the woman she defeated to claim the gold last November; Toni Storm.

However, during this week’s Fightful AEW Dynamite recap show, Sean Ross Sapp revealed the British star is currently carrying an injury which could severely affect the outcome of Sunday’s match. Sapp even went as far as to suggest that the AEW women’s division could look ‘categorically different’ heading out of Double Or Nothing.

“Jamie Hayter is hurt. She is hurt. I’m thinking this division looks categorically different in 5 days. I see the winds of change coming here and I think we’re in for some major change in this division.”

It’s unclear whether this is specifically referring to a title change or something even more drastic. Should Toni Storm reclaim the gold in a matter of days, she would become the first ever woman to hold the AEW Women’s World Championship on more than one occasion.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on Jamie Hayter’s injury and the status of the AEW women’s division as we hear more.
