Jay White has reportedly be away from AEW due to visa issues.
It’s been over two weeks since we last saw Jay White match a live appearance on AEW TV. On March 13, he stepped through the ropes to compete against Darby Allin on the ‘Big Business’ edition of Dynamite, and, post-match, he was part of a key angle which saw the split of the ‘Bang Bang Scissor Gang’. However, since White turned on Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed, he hasn’t been seen in front of a live audience, and we now have an update on his recent absence.
Per Fightful Select, it’s clarified that White is currently dealing with visa issues which have stopped him appearing live during AEW’s Canada tour. Instead, the New Zealander has only been seen via pre-taped vignettes.
“Fightful Select has learned that Switchblade Jay White is unable to work in Canada due to his visa. He will be back in the fold when the company begins running shows in the United States again.”

As mentioned, the storyline between Bullet Club Gold and The Acclaimed has been hampered by White’s travel restrictions, so it’ll be interesting to see how this is picked up and furthered once AEW have the 31-year-old back at their disposal on live TV once again.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jay White’s AEW absence as soon as we hear more.
