With 2023 fast approaching, AEW are nearing their 4th anniversary. The company have gone from strength to strength since their formation on January 1st, 2019, having two weekly TV shows on TBS and TNT respectively, as well as signing a host of the industry’s biggest stars to bolster their already stacked roster of talent. One avenue AEW have yet to explore, however, is the house show scene, although it appears as though they’ll soon be making a start.
During the most recent episode of legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross’ Grilling JR podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he believes AEW will be delving into the live event game in 2023, noting that Jeff Jarrett is expected to play a big role in making it happen.
“I believe in 2023 that AEW will be in the house show, live event, live event business to some degree. I just think that it’s an opportunity that can be capitalized upon if, if, if AEW is strategic in their planning. I think that’s what Jeff Jarrett’s working on.”

Upon Jeff Jarrett’s AEW signing announcement, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned the possibility of the 55-year-old helping the company with live events, likely due to the time he recently spent as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Live Events.
As always, we’ll aim to provide updates on the possibility of AEW running house shows in 2023 as soon as we hear more.
