Joe Hendry has addressed fan discontent after his recent concert on RAW.

On the July 27 episode of Monday Night RAW, Joe Hendry performed a concert alongside Danhausen. The segment was not well received and garnered lot of negative attention and backlash from wrestling fans online. The duo’s musical performance also took place on a show which was reportedly left the creative team under pressure as Netflix executives attended the show. Now, Hendry himself has addressed the poorly-received segment.

While speaking on Cheap Heat, Joe Hendry commented on the fan reaction to the concert segment with Danhausen, saying some things will land and some won’t.

“I’ll just be completely honest and upfront about this. We are all extremely passionate about what we do… and the goal is, and always has been for me, to give the audience value. There’s been times when I’ve been on the indies and I’ve made a music video making fun of my opponent. I remember there’s one in Germany and there was like 300 people and I’m like ‘Man, I hope this joke lands’ I’m behind the curtain like, ‘Come on!’. You want it to land and it’s the best feeling in the world when you give the audience that moment and they laugh, and so I’ll say this. We give absolutely everything we have got. I give my absolute best efforts, and we’re gonna try a lot of things, and some things are gonna land and some won’t. But we always give our best efforts.”

-Joe Hendry

Through his music, Joe Hendry has proven that he isn’t afraid to try unorthodox ways of capturing fans’ imagination. In fact, the Scotsman rose to prominence in 2024 when his theme “I Believe In Joe Hendry” peaked at number 4 in the UK Singles chart in May 2024, creating a wave of momentum he rode all the way to win the TNA World Title. Eventually signing with WWE, Hendry is already a former NXT Champion, However, the recent RAW segment certainly wasn’t a career highlight.

The segment also featured controversial boxer Ryan Garcia, and it’s believed there were even multiple WWE talent backstage who didn’t want him to be involved in the show. You can read more about that here.

As always we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the recent concert featuring Joe Hendry and Danhausen as soon as we hear more.
