Kota Ibushi has been sidelined from action due to the shoulder injury that he received in a grueling match against Kazuchika Okada in the G1 Climax Finals in October of 2021. Ibushi was announced for the prestigious New Japan Cup but was pulled due to the severity of the shoulder injury.

In May of 2022, Kota would go about airing his alleged grievances with NJPW management over social media. NJPW would summarily hold a press conference looking to address the issues raised by Kota, and the penalties placed on others involved in the incidents.

Kota Ibushi recently spoke to Dark Puroresu Flowsion, where he would provide a clip of him sparring, and a positive update on his injured shoulder.

Even with the positive message and the training footage provided by Kota, the timing of his return to the ring is completely up in the air.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kota Ibushi’s injury status, as well as his future with New Japan Pro Wrestling as soon as we hear more.
