On February 1st, former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi officially left NJPW following the expiration of his contract, leading to interest from multiple companies attempting to secure his signature, one of which being All Elite Wrestling.

Speaking to Dark Puroresu Flowsion, Ibushi revealed the terms that AEW would need to agree to for him to join the company, highlighting his desire to work a limited schedule until his dojo is up and running.

“In the case of a contract with AEW, I would like to sign a contract with AEW that I will participate in for about a week every month until the basic foundation of the dojo is solidified.”

Whilst Ibushi is yet to put pen to paper on a long-term deal with any promotion just yet, he has been announced for GCW’s Bloodsport on March 30th, where he’s set to take on Speedball Mike Bailey, and then the following day at Joey Janela’s Spring Break.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Kota Ibushi as soon as we hear more.
