Samoa Joe made headlines across the wrestling world as he returned to Ring of Honor for the first time since 2008, coming to the ring at the end of Supercard of Honor XV on April 1st.
Joe was confirmed shortly after as having signed with All Elite Wrestling, with both AEW & ROH now being under Tony Khan’s ownership. Joe would go on to make his AEW Dynamite debut in emphatic fashion, defeating Minoru Suzuki to claim the ROH World Television Championship.
Speaking on Joe’s return to the wrestling business following his WWE release, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed how elated he was to see his friend back in the ring during the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show.
“I think it’s awesome. Samoa Joe, I knew he would come back eventually. He’s not going to retire yet, this guy still has some life left in him and I’m looking forward to seeing what he has to offer to this day.”

Angle continued to discuss his relationship with Joe, recalling the pair’s time together in TNA, where Angle notes a cage match between the two as being one of his favourite cage matches of all time.
“For TNA in particular, because I had a better cage match in WWE with Chris Benoit, but with TNA, I would say Samoa Joe was my favorite match because it was an MMA-style match. Jeff’s was an immediate second.”

Joe now looks set to square up against the recently debuted 7ft+ Satnam Singh in the near future, with the former NBA player making his shocking Dynamite debut by attacking Joe after his victory over Suzuki on a recent Dynamite
