LA Knight’s WWE absence appears to be down to creative changes.

Prior to the May 18 edition of WWE Raw, LA Knight had been absent from WWE television since both he and GUNTHER set their sights on the World Heavyweight Championship on April 20, with GUNTHER having since moved over to Friday Night SmackDown as he looks to dethrone Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

According to Fightful Select, LA Knight’s recent absence from WWE television was not due to injury, nor was it the result of any contractual dispute, despite fan speculation linked to recent WWE releases and reported pay cuts.

“When Fightful asked within WWE and to people familiar with the situation, they claimed it was a “non-story” and he was just off television. When we pressed on the situation, it was also claimed that it wasn’t as result of an injury or pay dispute, or anything related to recent releases or pay cuts.”

The report additionally notes that creative is said to have been quickly changed for a number of wrestlers after WrestleMania 42, and while Fightful Select have yet to provide further insight into the talent in question, it appears that LA Knight is one example of this being the case within WWE.

LA Knight made his return to WWE Raw on the May 18 edition, first confronting The Usos over their alliance with Roman Reigns before telling Seth Rollins that he is not his friend, despite sharing a common enemy in the form of The Vision.
