Lio Rush began his second run in AEW in September of 2021 where he was often paired with Dante Martin in a program rivaling Team Taz. Rush made his final appearance for Tony Khan’s promotion in December of that year before earning his free agency in early 2022.

Lio recently spoke to Joey Karni of The Angle Podcast and spoke about his time spent as a member of All Elite Wrestling, he mentioned how the character he was portraying was not of his own design and mentioned that he might not have been given the most advice during his time there.

“It was a character or gimmick thrown on me that I would’ve never chosen myself and I had to work with that. I had to adapt and kind of figure out where I wanted the character to go because there weren’t a lot of pointers,”

Lio doesn’t feel like any bridges have been burnt between he and AEW and believes there is no ill will between the two.

Rush has been out of action due to an injury suffered in January at PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles. The Man of the Hour arrived at NJPW’s Capital Collision although his return to the ring date is unknown.
