Luchasaurus Reveals He Recently Underwent His Fourth Surgery Of 2026

Four surgeries have kept AEW’s Luchasaurus out of in-ring action.

The last time fans saw Luchasaurus in the ring was during his reunion with Jack Perry, when he was enjoying a strong run as part of Jurassic Express. He was later taken out by The Demand in storyline, and since then has only appeared in vignettes alongside Perry while driving the Jurassic Express bus.

Speaking with Knicks Film School, Luchasaurus revealed that his lengthy absence has been due to undergoing four surgeries over the past year.

“I’ll be watching [AEW All In: London] from home because I just had my fourth surgery of the year… I’ll be home nursing two shoulders, a left meniscus, and a right elbow. But I am on the path to return. I had to get my rotator cuffs fixed, and they’re tendons. With a tendon, there is a specific timetable that you can’t beat no matter what, and that’s six months. The second shoulder, this was done in February, this was done in April. So around the end of October I’ll be, hopefully as long as it’s all healed right, cleared to start exploring what a comeback looks like.”

That’s certainly good to hear, especially if Jurassic Express looks to make another run at the tag team titles in AEW’s currently stacked division. However, it’s worth noting that Jack Perry has been on a serious singles push since Luchasaurus was put on the shelf, which could make their next move an interesting one.

Perry was an alternate for last year’s Continental Classic and impressed throughout his opportunities in the tournament. He then won the National Championship in a battle royal and successfully defended it multiple times in well-received matches.

More recently, he has been involved in brutal battles against Swerve Strickland and Jon Moxley, leading many to believe that more singles gold could be in his future.
