Darius Martin, one half of the tag-team Top Flight, has been plagued by injuries since joining AEW.

He previously missed a year of in-ring action due to a torn ACL. Martin made his return following his ACL injury as part of the AEW World Tag Team Title Number One Contendership Casino Tag Team Royale on Dynamite, eventually losing out to The Young Bucks.

Martin would go on to compete in just short of a dozen matches following his return his return from injury, only to end up on the sidelines once again. Despite reports of a potential leg injury, Martin made things clear on twitter that his injury “had NOTHING to do with wrestling”, taking aim at news sites that he sarcastically claimed “know more about my health than I do”.

Little else was known regarding the details of Martin’s injury until recently, as Malakai Black finally provided an update on his colleague’s health. Making an appearance on the Universal Wrestling Podcast, Black had the following to say:

“I’ve wrestled Dante Martin, but his brother, unfortunately–I wish him a speedy recovery–he had a really nasty car accident. He’s out for another, like, six to nine months.”

-Malakai Black

As always we wish Darius Martin a speedy recovery, and look forward to the day when he returns to AEW action alongside his partner Dante as Top Flight. AEW’s tag-team division is possibly the best across the entire wrestling world right now, and the eventually addition of Top Flight will only bolster this further.
