On April 26’s edition of Dynamite, Roderick Strong made his shocking AEW debut after being absent from WWE’s weekly programming for over seven months. The star stormed down to the ring to aid Adam Cole as the former Undisputed Era stablemates reunited to battle the JAS.

Many fans were surprised to see the Messiah Of The Backbreaker appear for All Elite Wrestling as it had not come out that Strong had asked for his release or even that his contract was close to expiry. Expanding on that, Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has written that the audience members weren’t the only people that weren’t expecting the 39-year-old’s inclusion in Wednesday’s show with there being some people in WWE that still thought he was under contract with their company.

“While we do know of people in WWE who knew Strong wasn’t coming back, many in the company believed he was still under contract and were shocked to see him on TV.”

Roderick Strong’s first AEW match has already been announced with the star teaming up with Adam Cole, Orange Cassidy and Bandido to take on four members of the JAS as soon as next week’s Dynamite. Many are looking forward to his run in the company after a considerable time away from the ring.
