Mike Bailey: Will Ospreay Is The Best Wrestler In The World

United Empire member “Speedball” Mike Bailey has nothing but praise for the group’s leader.

Since August 30, Will Ospreay has been the AEW Men’s World Champion. Looking to make his mark atop the promotion, “The Aerial Assassin” wasted no time in handpicking some of the roster to join United Empire, one of which being “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Now, the Canadian has offered high praise to the man currently at the top of the mountain in All Elite Wrestling.

In a chat with The Wrestling Classic, Bailey elaborated on what makes Ospreay the best in the world in his eyes.

“There are absolutely no half measures with Will Ospreay. There is nothing that he does, not a single movement, not a decision that he hesitates on. Everything is 100%, and that gets him in trouble sometimes. You see him overcommit, make decisions a bit too fast, and that might be his one flaw. Watching him go is absolutely impressive. The commitment and force with which he moves forwards. That’s something that the first time we wrestled, which was at PWG in 2015, I could feel about Will Ospreay. It’s something that he has maintained to this day, and that has taken him to where he is now, which is AEW World Champion. The best wrestler in the world.”

When it comes Ospreay’s recent United Empire acquisitions, fans have seen The Brawling Birds also join the lineup, while names like Andrade and Francesco Akira have remained in the group on AEW TV having originally joined in Japan. After joining the faction, Mike Bailey crossed paths with Will Ospreay as part of this past weekend’s Clockwork Carnage, though “Speedball” was eliminated before the second part of the match could begin.

As yet, who the Brit will defend his gold against at Full Gear remains a mystery, although one thing that’s for sure is that he’s set on elevating AEW. In fact, he recently addressed receiving questions about WWE, noting he’d rather focus on All Elite Wrestling rather than talking about their main rival. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on both Will Ospreay and Mike Bailey as soon as we hear more.
