Newly-released attendance numbers for WrestleMania 42 this year showcase a clear drop-off in ticket sales from last year to this year.

For months, there’s been much contention over how many tickets were and were not sold at WrestleMania 42 this past April. The two-night event was in Las Vegas for the second year in a row, much to the chagrin of many fans, and it was clear the company wanted to repeat the incredibly strong attendance from 2025’s show. In their own personal report, WWE claimed that 50k attended the Saturday show, and 55k attended the Sunday show. However, a new report from the Las Vegas Stadium Authority highlights different numbers.

In a a new update from POST Wrestling, Brandon Thurston noted that the Stadium Authority cited the WM 42 numbers during a quarterly meeting, revealing that 47,000 people attended Saturday night’s show, and, on Sunday, just over 50,000 attended. That’s an 8,000 difference from the WWE numbers.

The reason this is significant is twofold. First, that means that the grand total for WrestleMania 42 was 97,126 combined, while WrestleMania 41’s attendance was 118,641, over 21k less year-to-year. There are many factors that likely contributed to this, some of which were discussed by the wrestling community, both fans and critics. There were the ticket prices, the cost of being in Las Vegas for multiple days, the quality of WWE at present, and more.

The second key point is that, with these revised numbers, All Elite Wrestling has a chance to overtake the second night of WM 42 and become the most-attended paid event of the wrestling year with All In: London at Wembley Stadium. Recent reports indicate the AEW PPV has crossed 40,000 tickets sold, and with less than two weeks until showtime, a proper surge or two could push it well over 50,000, eclipsing WrestleMania’s attendance. Whether that happens, though, remains to be seen.
