NJPW is one of the many promotions hurt heavily by the pandemic. With it seriously having an effect on how they use talent, but now hopefully there is some positives to look forward to.

Fightful Select has recently reported that NJPW are working towards getting talent work visas:

NJPW has begun to get visas for talent to make their way over to Japan. We’ve learned of several names that New Japan Pro Wrestling has worked on getting visas for to bring them over through the next few months, including Best of the Super Juniors.

Since the start of the pandemic, there had been many wrestlers who wanted to work in Japan, but “were outright told no”

Fightful had heard of several big names that had hoped to work in Japan that were outright told no during that period, because New Japan simply wasn’t bringing many new names over from the States

NJPW is home to many of the words finest talents, especially from an in-ring perspective. This of course leads to many fans fantasy booking their favourite wrestlers from WWE/AEW against some of their top stars. In the past 2 years, these match ups seemed a lot more unrealistic than they do now thanks to this news.
