Paul Wight has re-signed with AEW.

During a recent appearance on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show, Paul Wight touched on his future with All Elite Wrestling and confirmed that he plans on wrestling again in the future. Whilst an in-ring return has yet to materialise, we now have an update regarding his status with the company.

Fightful Select are now reporting that Paul Wight’s contract with All Elite Wrestling was set to expire earlier this year, although sources reportedly believe that he opted to re-sign with the company.

“Sources in AEW confirmed to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp that Paul Wight’s contract in the company was coming up earlier this year. However, it is believed that he agreed to a new deal to keep him with the company. We’ve not heard how long the deal is at this point, but he is believed to be firmly under contract.”

Formerly known as The Big Show during his time with WWE, Paul Wight officially became ‘All Elite’ in 2021 and has served All Elite Wrestling as an in-ring performer, commentator, and ambassador, on top of acting as a mentor for younger talent within the promotion by leaning on his decades of experience in the wrestling business.

Since joining All Elite Wrestling in 2021, Paul Wight has wrestled for the promotion just seven times as he has increasingly transitioned away from a full-time in-ring career. His last match took place on January 29, 2024, when he teamed with Chris Jericho and Mike Bailey to defeat Kyle Fletcher, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Lance Archer in the main event of Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea during the Jericho Cruise 2024.
