It could be a while before we see Roman Reigns compete in a WWE ring.
Roman Reigns reportedly picked up an injury early in his WWE SummerSlam match where he successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in ‘Tribal Combat’ vs Jey Uso.
The recent report comes from Dave Meltzer during Wrestling Observer Radio. The severity of the injury and how long he will be out of in-ring action is currently unknown, however he is scheduled to appear on the August 11 2023 edition of WWE SmackDown
“He’s gonna be back Friday. Roman Reigns got hurt in that match. I haven’t watched the beginning of the match over again but I heard it was relatively early. I don’t know the nature of the injury, I just heard he worked the match hurt. He got hurt early in the match. I don’t know what his schedule is but he’s going to be on the show Friday night. I would presume he’s going to be on Survivor Series, I don’t know that as fact”

Its worth considering that if you look at Roman Reigns current schedule of working matches, it is very much likely he was not scheduled to wrestle until one of the upcoming Premium Live Events, so one would hope it is not a serious injury and he will be in-ring ready by then.
