Roman Reigns could be set to appear for AAA in September.

On last night’s Monday Night RAW, Rey Mysterio was seen speaking to Roman Reigns backstage, with the legendary luchadore leek to remind “The Tribal Chief” of his General Manager role in AAA. Having teased that Reigns may soon make an appearance in the Mexican promotion, more details have emerged on when the World Heavyweight Champion might be set for a major crossover.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Roman Reigns’ reportedly won’t be at AAA x NXT Heatwave or either night of this year’s Triplemania, however the star could be set to appear at Worlds Collide in Rosemont, Illinois, on September 26.

“Well, obviously they’re gonna put him on a show. Now, what I can tell you is it is not going to be the MGM Grand show. My two first picks were the MGM Grand show or the show in Edinburg, Texas, which goes against All In, because those made sense as far as they’re the next two upcoming. I only know that he is not on the Texas show, and he’s not on the MGM Grand show. It could be Chicago because that’s a big one. They’re running the Allstate Arena. I figured Punk would work that show. I didn’t figure Roman would work that show, but they might. And I’m sure Punk will. I’m not sure, but I certainly expect Punk will work the show. Maybe they want Roman to work the show.”

AAA will be presenting two nights of TripleMania starting on September 11 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand before heading to Mexico City on September 13. Thus far, the only confirmed matchup will see Dominik Mysterio look to defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano on night two. Interestingly, WWE’s main roster isn’t currently running any Premium Live Events between now and Money in the Bank on October 10, perhaps freeing up some of their biggest stars to head to AAA next month.

On that note, while speaking at San Diego Comic Con, Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk also recently teased appearing for AAA when the promotion stops by Illinois. You can read more about that here.

As always we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Roman Reigns’ teased AAA appearance as soon as we hear more.
