Since making her in-ring debut at Wrestlemania 34 in 2018, Ronda Rousey has main evented Wrestlemania, won the 2022 Royal Rumble, and won the RAW Women’s Championship. All those achievements aside Ronda admits she’s still cutting her teeth.

The former UFC champion appeared on a recent episode of the Wives of Wrestling Podcast, where she spoke with, Kim Orton, Giovanna Angle, and Jon Alba.

During the interview, Ronda admitted her struggles with recalling match spots on the fly.

“Remembering it is hard, I’m not a seasoned veteran or anything. This past Mania, I was like, ‘I don’t have this down at all.’ We’re about to go out there and I’m like, ‘Uhh, I don’t know all this match yet.’”

Rousey admitted to heavily relying on cues from other talented individuals whenever she finds herself lost in the heat of the moment. She also admits to looking to her more senior opponents who often have more experience in the squared circle, for guidance.

“I’m very much dependent on who I’m in there with to make the match itself and guide me when I’m out there, I’m a smoke and mirrors bitch. I’ve only had a year and a half of experience and people forget that a lot. I’ll get thrown in these situations where I need to get reps in and need to know what this is.”

“It’s really cool learning from every opponent that I have, the different ways they put matches together and the different things they go for and different styles and how I’m able to fit in what their idea is.”

After an unsuccessful title shot at Wrestlemania this year, Ronda Rousey is set to face Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania Backlash in an “I Quit” match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
