A long-awaited heel turn and a major return could be on the cards for Survivor Series.

On November 25th in Rosemont, Illinois, WWE are set to present Survivor Series, with this year’s multi-man bouts set as WarGames matches for the second year running. With four competitors already confirmed for the men’s match, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Drew Mclntyre is in consideration for one of the fifth slots, and we now seemingly have confirmation of that being the case.

Fightful Select are now reporting that McIntyre has been planned to be a member of the heel team “for months now”, whilst a returning Randy Orton has been planned to join the babyface unit since the summer, with the reveal likely to take place before the premium live event as to dispell any speculation that CM Punk could take the spot.

“We’ve actually heard that’s been the working plan for the match for months now. Specifically, McIntyre has been planned for the heel/Judgment Day side of things, making it a 5-man team. The plan since this summer for the babyface side was a returning Randy Orton, with the reveal tentatively planned before the day of the show as to avoid any CM Punk speculation.”

The report then notes that these creative plans could, of course, always change, however the pair have undoubtedly been in the plans over the past few months.

Thus far, The Judgement Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh) are set to take on Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso at the event, and so time will tell as to who ends up joining them.

Last night’s episode of SmackDown saw Asuka align with Damage CTRL, taking their numbers to five following the return of Kairi Sane. As a result, many fans are also expecting a women’s WarGames match to take place on the show, and Fightful Select’s report indicated that this is indeed the plan.

PWInsider recently reported that Becky Lynch is expected to be involved in the match, although Fightful were unable to corroborate this at the time.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE’s plans for Survivor Series: WarGames as soon as we hear more.
