Talent from World Wonder Ring Stardom are ‘not expected’ on June 25’s Forbidden Door.
The second instalment of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is just two weeks away and, despite their only being two matches announced thus far, excitement for the show is already through the roof due to the lineup consisting of Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson vs Kazuchika Okada.
With the rest of the card still to be announced, many fans of Japanese wrestling were hoping that talent from STARDOM would have the chance to mix it up with some members of the AEW’s women’s division, especially given that the Joshi company are owned by Bushiroad who also own New Japan Pro Wrestling. However, a new report from Dave Meltzer has indicated that STARDOM’s involvement at Forbidden Door is unlikely and that their talent are ‘not expected’ to feature.
“Wrestlers from Stardom are not expected to appear at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II on Sunday, June 25.”

To expand on this, the report noted that visa issues would become apparent for the vast majority of STARDOM’s roster and that there hasn’t been any contact from AEW regarding the Joshi promotion sending talent for the show.
“Additionally, Stardom informed our own Dave Meltzer that nobody on their roster has a Canadian visa and would not be able to work the AEW/NJPW joint show in Toronto. They also noted they have not been contacted by AEW regarding the event.”
-Dave Meltzer
As many may know, STARDOM have already scheduled a show in their own right which falls on June 25, clashing with Forbidden Door. As it stands, a lot of the Japanese promotion’s top stars are already booked for their own show so it may have been difficult to send available stars to Canada regardless of visa issues.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on the plans for Forbidden Door and who may be involved as we hear more.
