Tama Tonga, the current NJPW NEVER Open Weight Champion is not opposed to making the move to WWE.

Tama Tonga is satisfied with his accomplishments so far in Japan, but after New Japan Pro Wrestling’s The New Beginning saw Tama Tonga reigning victorious against former Bullet Club stablemate, El Phantasmo, Tama Tonga is more than ready to face a brand new challenge.

Speaking recently to Tokyo Sports, the NEVER Open Weight Champion admitted that WWE has already come calling, before hinting that he may just answer that call.

“I’m always the guy at the top. Look what I have accomplished in my short career in Japan. I started the best unit ever, the Bullet Club. I was ostracized. Nobody believed me. But that’s okay. All you need is yourself. All you need is to believe in yourself. I will be the best wrestler. It could be the ultimate legend of New Japan Pro Wrestling, or it could be WWE, because WWE is knocking hard on my door. And I might say, ‘Hello.'”

Tama Tonga has had prior offers from WWE, however, he ultimately decided to stay in NJPW with his brother Tanga Loa. Tama would obtain the NEVER Championship when he defeated Karl Anderson at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on the future of Tama Tonga as soon as we hear more.
