Tessa Blanchard Reportedly Halfway Through Three-Year TNA Deal Before Her Release

Tessa Blanchard was reportedly in the midst of a three-year contract with TNA
On June 16, Fightful Select revealed that Tessa Blanchard had been granted her release from TNA Wrestling. The report noted the 30-year-old had opted to commit to CMLL after she was asked by the Mexican promotion to choose between the two companies. Now, more has emerged regarding Blanchard’s departure, including how long was left on her deal and TNA’s initials plans to retain her services.
According to a new update from Fightful Select, it’s believed Tessa Blanchard was halfway through a three-year deal with TNA, with sources indicating the company was going to to rework her deal to offer more money.
“CMLL books Tessa Blanchard more, and paid more based on what sources claimed. It was claimed within TNA that they were going to rework her deal to offer her more money due to that. Sources familiar to the situation claimed that Blanchard was under a three year deal with TNA, so they ended up letting her out about halfway through the contract.”

Further adding to why CMLL wanted Blanchard to choose between themselves and TNA, Fightful makes mention of the Mexican company becoming more selective when it comes to their talent promoting other brands. The former TNA World Champion is also said to prefer her creative direction in CMLL.
Of course, the past few weeks have been turbulent for TNA, with several names leaving the promotion either through release requests or being let go. Those no longer with the company include Myla Grace, Steve Maclin, Tommy Dreamer, and Sami Callihan, the latter of whom recently detailed how he found out he was set to leave TNA. You can read more on that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Tessa Blanchard’s TNA departure as soon as we hear more.
