Matt & Nick Jackson, known collectively as The Young Bucks, were integral to the formation of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, as the pair were two of five ‘Elite’ members to have broken away from NJPW in order to start their own promotion in America. Since then, the pair have captured the AEW World Tag Team Championships twice and became the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions in September, on top of having countless classic matches that have helped to raise the stock of the company.

Fightful Select are now reporting that The Young Bucks appear likely to be sticking around in AEW for the foreseeable future, as discussions are currently underway regarding the pair receiving contract extensions.

“Fightful Select has learned that Matt and Nick Jackson, the Young Bucks have been in discussions with All Elite Wrestling about new contracts. We don’t have details, terms, or know if they’ve been signed, but them being in discussions has made its way through the locker room.”

Cody Rhodes’ departure from the company last year sparked some confusion amongst AEW fans regarding the length of the original contracts for The Elite, as the Wrestling Observer had originally reported in January 2019 that Cody and the Young Bucks had all signed five-year deals, a report that of course turned out to be inaccurate as Rhodes departed the company just over three years into his tenure.

On the October 9th, 2019 episode of Being The Elite, the contracts were described as “four-year deals”, although no further details were provided, and thus the pair’s exact contract status has proven difficult to clarify over the past few years.

The report states that several sources within AEW believe the Bucks are currently negotiating a deal that will keep them with the company for quite some time, however, there has yet to be any official confirmation of this. Fightful noted that they have reached out to AEW for comments regarding these discussions, but are yet to hear back from them.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on The Young Bucks’ AEW contract negotiations as soon as we hear more, with the official length of said deals still yet to be revealed.
