With speculation over Edge’s future, there are reportedly those in AEW that believe a move to the company is possible.

In a recent interview with ET Canada, The Rated R Superstar Edge revealed that his scheduled clash with Sheamus, which took place on last night’s SmackDown, was the last match on his current contract. This, of course, got fans talking about the implications of his comments, with it perhaps being his final outing in WWE or even a suggestion towards his retirement as a whole.

However, there is still a sizeable portion of fans who are desperate for the 11-time world champion to remain active and not call an end to his career just yet, and, even if the star has had his last WWE match, there remain those who link Edge to AEW, where he could reunite with his longtime tag team partner Christian Cage.

To discuss the potential of Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland making the switch to Tony Khan’s company, Fightful Select have reported that many people within AEW believe the move to be a ‘real possibility’.

“There are many in AEW that think that Copeland coming in could be a real possibility. Those close to him claimed earlier this year that the idea of him working in AEW isn’t as “out there” as you’d think.”

Copeland has been linked to All Elite Wrestling for some time, with speculation over a future reuniting with Christian being spoken about long before the 49-year-old revealed his contract status. In fact, it’s believed that he was even contacted by AEW in 2019, until the Canadian notified Vince McMahon of the discussions and subsequent measures were put in place to facilitate the star’s to WWE.

It’s worth noting that, as part of his recent interview, Edge stated that his contract wouldn’t expire until September, so fans shouldn’t expect to see him make the jump in the immediate future, despite All In coming up in just over a week.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Edge and his contract status, including potential of a move to AEW as we hear more.
