Since the separation of The Inner Circle, Sammy Guevara has walked his own path, and now finds himself aligned with Tay Conti.
Conti was previously associated with Anna Jay of the Dark Order on AEW television, although over the past few weeks her real life relationship with Guevara has become a prominent feature across Dynamite & Rampage.
As the duo leaned into their love and personal life on TV however, the fans quickly began to turn on both, noticeably booing the two former popular singles stars.
Whilst speaking to Swerve Strickland and Monteasy on the Swerve City Podcast, AEW President Tony Khan praised Conti for her improvement since joining AEW, although he admitted he misjudged the reaction to her & Guevara’s onscreen double act.
“Since she’s come into AEW, she’s had great matches. Obviously, her presentation has changed and changed and now it’s continued to evolve with Sammy and they’ve found something really special on and off-screen. It’s great and I’m really happy for them. I was really happy for them, so maybe I misread how happy the fans would be for them. I think I’ve course-corrected that. Course correcting, you don’t try to fit a square peg in a round hole. I like Sammy, I like Tay. The fans like Sammy, the fans like Tay. I like Sammy and Tay together. The fans do not. That’s where we differentiate. That is what I’ve come to accept,”

Conti & Guevara captured the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship at this months Triplemania event, and are now celebrating their victory whilst on vacation in Brazil.
Guevara recently lost his TNT Championship in a ladder match to Scorpio Sky, with the new champion set to defend the title against former SCU teammate Frankie Kazarian on this Friday’s edition of AEW Rampage.
