Tony Khan says he can’t legally comment on CM Punk returning to WWE this past weekend.

Just under 48 hours ago, CM Punk rocked the wrestling world by coming back to WWE at this year’s Survivor Series. The event took place in Chicago and marked the 45-year-old’s first appearance for the company since his infamous exit almost a decade ago. It also comes around three months after the Straight Edge Saviour had his All Elite Wrestling contract terminated for cause after being involved in numerous backstage incidents during his two year stint working under Tony Khan.

Many fans may be wondering how the AEW Owner feels about CM Punk re-debuting for WWE after initially being the one to bring him out of his seven-year wrestling hiatus, and, while speaking to Steve Hermon of BBC West Midlands, Khan was asked about his thoughts regarding the two-time AEW World Champion showing up at Survivor Series. Interestingly, he stated that he couldn’t legally talk about his reaction to the return.

“Can’t talk about that, nor do I think it’s the time or the place. I appreciate you asking and I’m very excited about AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. Not to dodge or duck your question, it’s just something I can’t legally talk about.”

Khan will largely be focused on continuing the promotion for AEW’s second-ever trip to Wembley Stadium, with presale tickets for next year’s All In event going on sale earlier today.

As for CM Punk, the star will tonight make his first appearance on Monday Night Raw is just under 10 years, as fans wait to see how he will follow up on his shock return to WWE.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further details on the reaction to CM Punk’s WWE return as we hear more.
