Tony Khan Says He Loves Working For Skydance Following Recent Merger

Tony Khan isn’t shying away from the merger that might affect his wrestling promotion.
For a long time, many have wondered if the WBD/ Paramount merger would affect All Elite Wrestling, among many other programs between the two companies. Warner Bros Discovery gave AEW a shot in 2019, and they’ve enjoyed a strong relationship ever since, but, since the new Skydance merger means new oversight on the company, questions were raised over whether the AEW could be viewed differently going forward. Now, Tony Khan has stated his excitement to work under Skydance.
In a livestream on Twitter, AEW head Tony Khan made it clear once more that he supports the merger.
“My first time here in Paris was with Warner Bros as we were preparing to renew AEW’s TV deal. It’s great being here in Paris today, my first day working for Skydance. I love working for Skydance, and we’re gonna have a great future here. It’s our first day, hand in hand with our Paramount brothers and sisters here at Warner Bros. And it’s gonna be a great, great future for AEW.”
-Tony Khan
AEW’s current deal signed with WBD runs until the end of 2027, with an option for the media company to extend through 2028. This means Tony Khan’s promotion are unlikely to be faced with any immediate challenges in the aftermath of the merger, and have time to let the dust settle before needing to renegotiate any contracts.
Still, there’s been no indication, either from Khan or anyone at Skydance, that their relationship has shifted at all following the launch of Skydance, so fans will be able to push the topic to the back of their minds for the foreseeable future.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AEW’s reaction to the WBD/ Paramount merger as soon as we hear more.
