Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw a pre-taped promo aired of William Regal explaining his decision to help MJF win the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley, stating that it was his final lesson to teach the Blackpool Combat Club before his time was up. Per multiple reports this week, Regal is now effectively done with AEW, and is expected to rejoin WWE in the coming weeks in a backstage capacity.
PWInsider have now provided an update on when Regal’s new role with WWE is set to begin, revealing that he’s expected to start with the company in early 2023.

Elsewhere in the report, PWInsider also revealed that Regal had a trip to Great Britain already planned and would not be back in time to do another live appearance, hence the use of the pre-taped promo that was acknowledged as such last night.
Finally, the report notes that Regal’s podcast, Gentleman Villain with William Regal, is also set to come to an end alongside his time with AEW.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of William Regal as soon as we hear more.
