Will Ospreay Appears At NJPW Road To King Of Pro Wrestling Show
The AEW World Champion, Will Ospreay appeared in New Japan Pro Wrestling today, but not in the place many expected.
Today was the NJPW Road to King of Pro-Wrestling house show event. Will Ospreay surprised fans in attendance to assist the United Empire by clearing out members of Unbound Co., Jeff Cobb and the Knockout Brothers, whom he’ll be facing alongside Henare and Great-O-Khan on October 12th for the Never Openweight Six-Man Titles. You can check out the arrival below.
After the event, Ospreay revealed why he was there.
“Big surprise, eh? Bet you were shocked. BILLY GOAT showed up at the house show. This place is… Niigata, right? It’s been quite a while since I last did a house show. I’ve been missing this kind of thing… Got here about two hours ago and thought, ‘Yeah, might as well pop in.'”

And pop in he did, which likely upset current mainline United Empire leader Callum Newman, who noted to Khan and Henare earlier this week that they needed to pick a side in the schism that’s growing within the empire.
Curiously, O-Khan was the first to reveal loyalty, or lack thereof, after the Uonuma event.
“There’s absolutely no way I’d serve under anyone. But siding with either Colossal or Ospreay… the answer to that was decided long ago. Well, to begin with, UNITED EMPIRE or whatever (throws towel onto the floor) doesn’t matter at all… (stomps on the towel).”
-Great-O-Khan
Will Ospreay has been building up the AEW branch of United Empire for a few weeks now, and has a strong faction at his back, including Speedball Mike Bailey, Andrade El Idolo, and the Brawling Birds. Callum Newman isn’t amused, though, and many feel that this could lead to a bout at Wrestle Kingdom early next year, where Ospreay could face Callum for the AEW World Title, if he’s still the champion come January 4.
