On April 27th, Will Washington joined Sean Ross Sapp for the final episode of Day After Dynamite, having previously announced that he’d be stepping away from his podcasting duties. At the time, Will’s next move was unclear, however its now been revealed that he’s set to undertake a major role at one of wrestling’s top promotions.

With just under an hour to go before tonight’s Dynamite gets underway, AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter to reveal that 18-year podcasting veteran Will Washington is officially the company’s new Wrestling Administration Coordinator.

Following the news being made official, Fightful Select provided an insight into Washington’s new role with AEW, noting that the deal had been agreed a week two weeks ago, with some talents being told of the move at last week’s Dynamite.

“Washington has finished up podcasting duties with Fightful, and has started traveling with the AEW brand, and is in town for the May 3 show. Washington will be serving as Director of Wrestling Administration for the company. Some talent were told of the move at the April 26 AEW Dynamite, after a deal was agreed to in the week prior.”

Fightful then noted that among Washington’s duties, he’s set to help with overseeing continuity and aiding in long-term creative, with this work being in direct collaboration with Tony Khan.

As a result of Washington’s role with AEW, his time at Fightful will officially be coming to an end as both a podcaster and exclusive news contributor. Contractually, Washington is prohibited from contributing news as this would be deemed a conflict of interest.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Washington joining All Elite Wrestling as soon as we hear more.
