Willow Nightingale Says AEW Redemption Feels Like It Could Be The Moment For Her

Willow Nightingale feels she’ll become AEW Women’s World Champion in the future.

This Sunday, Willow Nightingale will challenge Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship, with the winner of the match going on to defend the gold against Mercedes Moné at All In: London next month. Due to the Wembley implications, many are split on who they want to see leave the Bell Centre as champion. Now, “The Babe With The Power” has looked ahead to her title opportunity at the upcoming Redemption pay-per-view.

In an interview with Jon Alba, Willow Nightingale talked about her hopes of getting the title, stating that, even if she won’t get it on Sunday, she’ll ensure she gets it in the future.

“Sunday, in a lot of ways, feels like that could finally be the moment for me,” she said. ” But if it’s not Sunday… I’m gonna make it happen. It’s going to happen, you know? It feels like something that is written ahead of me, and I’m just living my life until that day eventually comes. Which maybe sounds like a crazy person thing to say, but I don’t know. I think sometimes you have to believe that. You have to believe it.”

Nightingale has had two reigns as the TBS Champion, with her most recent reign having her dubbed “The Comeback Killer. The star had numerous strong defenses until having to unfortunately relinquish the belt in May due to suffering a shoulder injury just before what would’ve been her match in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. As such, it seems the AEW Women’s World Championship would be a logical next step for the 32-year-old.

Seen as one of AEW’s top babyfaces, many fans want Willow to reach the top of the mountain sooner rather than later. However, there remain those keen to see ‘The Toxic Spider’ carry the gold into Wembley Stadium, particularly after holding the title since February. Still, whether we see a new champion crowned in Montreal remains to be seen.
