WWE Reportedly Expect AEW To Do A Show During WrestleMania Weekend In 2027

WWE is planning for its rival, All Elite Wrestling, to do something during WrestleMania 43 weekend next year.

On September 12, 2025, WWE officially announced that WrestleMania 43 will emanate from Saudi Arabia. Along with the usual pushback that accompanies the company’s Saudi deal, many fans raised the point that the trip could provide issues with regard to WrestleMania weekend, as the numerous indie promotions that traditionally flock to the spectacle’s host city would be unable to follow “The Show Of Shows” to Saudi Arabia. With speculation growing that AEW could fill the void in the U.S. market when WWE head to the Middle East in 2027.

According to WrestleVotes via Fightful Select, WWE officials are believed to be expecting AEW to have a significant presence in the USA during WrestleMania 43 weekend.

“WrestleVotes on Fightful Select learned that some WWE officials are expecting Tony Khan and AEW to have a significant presence somewhere in the USA during WrestleMania 43 weekend. According to a WWE source, the expectation of AEW potentially running a show stateside during WrestleMania 43 weekend was among the reasons that WWE moved to announce its stateside festivities nearly nine months in advance.”

Despite not holding a show in the United States that weekend, WWE will be hosting official watch parties for WrestleMania 43, meaning fans will still have two options stateside while “The Granddaddy Of Them All” heads overseas for the first time in history. While it may appear as if this is another of the company’s efforts to counterprogram AEW, it’s worth noting that Tony Khan is yet to confirm plans to go ahead with a major event.

Still, across the last few weeks, we’ve learned that NXT and AAA events will take place on the same days as AEW All In: London and All Out. In fact, the Worlds Collide event that will counterprogram All Out will be in Chicago, just 20 minutes from where the AEW event will be held.
