Roman Reigns Reportedly Not One Of The Names Asked To Renegotiate WWE Contract By TKO

Roman Reigns reportedly hasn’t been asked to renegotiate his WWE contract.

Having initially been advertised for several episodes of Monday Night RAW throughout June, eyebrows were raised when Roman Reigns was no longer being advertised for appearances post-Backlash. Particularly with the recent report from F4WOnline that New Day’s stunning departure from WWE was down to TKO attempting to renegotiate their contracts, some online speculation mounting over whether ‘The Tribal Chief’ had clashed with the company over his deal, possibly leading to his reduced appearances. It now seems that isn’t the case.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s believed Roman Reigns hasn’t been asked to renegotiate his deal, with wrestlers at his level generally not being targeted for contract restructuring.

“Roman Reigns was not asked to renegotiate (his WWE contract). None of the guys at that level, they’re not being asked. It’s the guys who, I’d say, again, without mentioning any names, they’d be guys who were at a higher level before than they are now. I think that’s the best way to put it.”

However, while Reigns isn’t believed to be among those being asked to renegotiate their deal, it was recently reported that a ‘majorly pushed talent’ had opted to take a 50% pay cut when it was offered by the company. You can read more about that here.

With the news of TKO attempting to restructure talent contracts coming shortly after the latest round of releases, many are scratching their heads over why a company with revenue like WWE’s would want to cut costs. However, a possible reason behind the contract renegotiations has been revealed. You can read more about that here.

Reigns’ current focus will be defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at Backlash. Since the star is no longer set for his previously advertised appearances on RAW in June, what comes next for him after this weekend’s Premium Live Event remains to be seen.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Roman Reigns as soon as we hear more.
