Multiple WWE Wrestlers Reportedly Unhappy With Ryan Garcia Segment On RAW

It appears that it wasn’t just fans and critics who were upset at Ryan Garcia’s appearance on Monday Night RAW.

During this past week’s WWE RAW, boxer Ryan Garcia appeared to trashed the concert featuring Danhausen and Joe Hendry, aligning himself with the Judgment Day in the process. Due to racially charged statements Garcia had previously made on his Twitter account, his involvement on the show was met with strong pushback from many online, and it now seems fans weren’t the only ones opposing the 27-year-old’s appearance on RAW.

According to a report from Fightful Select, many WWE roster members didn’t approve of the segment, either.

“There were a number of wrestlers internally who wanted nothing to do with Ryan Garcia on WWE Raw.”

Ryan Garcia was on the show likely on the show to create buzz heading into his September 12 fight with Conor Benn, though his appearance didn’t seem to sit right with both fans and talent. On that note, a recent report suggested this past week’s RAW only served to put pressure on WWE creative, after Netflix executives attended the show. You can read more about that here.

WWE has never been afraid to bring in celebrities and athletes to bring mainstream attention to the company, although it’s worth noting that their recent ventures haven’t always been recorded well by fans. Perhaps the biggest example would be when Jelly Roll was made a key part of the story heading into the Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 42. At present, it’s unclear whether WWE are planning to have Garcia remain on-screen in the coming weeks, or if it was a one-off.
