Former TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich is now in MLW

Having departed TNA at the end of last year, Masha Slamovich has made sporadic appearances in wrestling, most notably through two matches with Marvelous in Japan. This follows allegations of domestic violence issued last September by her former partner AKIRA. However, following the recent MLW Fightland and Fusion tapings, Slamovich has confirmed a long-term return to a major promotion.

According to PWInsider, Masha Slamovich has signed with MLW. It was noted she put pen to paper back in July, suggesting that plans for her weren’t linked to the departure of another controversial wrestler.

“Former TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich has signed with MLW, PWInsider.com has confirmed. We have been asked if Masha was slotted into whatever the original plans were for Tessa Blanchard, who was originally announced as debuting over the weekend before that appearance was pulled (likely by CMLL, who Blanchard is signed to) but based on when Slamovich was signed, it appears that the Blanchard situation was completely independent.  Whatever was planned for Tessa was separate from MLW’s Masha plans. MLW did not respond to previous PWInsider.com queries about Blanchard.”

Tessa Blanchard is contracted with CMLL in Mexico though was announced as signing with MLW ahead of the recent tapings on September 12. However, CMLL announced this would be her only MLW date and her appearance was removed before the taping took place. Blanchard is also a former TNA wrestler, having two stints with the company, with the most recent run ending earlier this year.

She was granted her TNA release back in June after it was reportedly that CMLL wanted Blanchard to choose between them and the American promotion. You can catch up on the situation surrounding her release here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Masha Slamovich and MLW as soon as we hear more.
