Adam Copeland Reveals 2027 Will Be The Final Year Of His Career

Next year will be the last of Adam Copeland’s in-ring career.
Over the last few years, we’ve seen several major wrestlers announce their retirements. Danielson, Cena, Tanahashi, and more are on the way. What AEW fans didn’t expect tonight, though, was Adam Copeland adding his name to the list. After qualifying for the WrestleDream Clockwork Carnage match, Copeland grabbed the microphone to reveal that Christian Cage had severely injured himself during the ladder match at All Out.
Then, after some soul searching, Copeland realised something important and addressed the crowd.
2027 will be his last year, but it’s worth remembering Copeland once thought he’d never wrestle again after sustaining a serious neck injury during his first tenure with WWE. Then, in one of the most remarkable wrestling returns in history, he came back to the ring, wrestling for WWE for a further three years.
Then, in October 2023, the Canadian star hopped over to All Elite Wrestling so he could do even more before the curtain truly fell on his career. Since that jump, he’s become TNT Champion, reunited with Christian Cage to add more tag team gold to his résumé, and even wrestled a match in Maple Leaf Pro at Maple Leaf Gardens, a bucket-list place to compete for Copeland. Plus, one key venue left on the list is the Tokyo Dome. With many AEW stars making crossover New Japan appearances of late, whether “The Rated R Superstar” can tick off another of his dream wrestling venues remains to be seen. As far as Copeland’s retirement is concerned, he spoke last year on exactly where he wants his final match to take place. You can read more about that here.
