Booker T recently gave some insight on LA Knight’s popularity.

Since regaining the LA Knight name after a brief main roster stint as Max Dupri, the former Million Dollar Champion’s popularity has skyrocketed, with many fans recently calling for Knight to win the Money in the Bank briefcase prior to him losing out to Damian Priest.

In a recent episode of The Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore, Booker spent some time giving his thoughts on LA Knight, his recent rise to the main event scene in WWE, and his loss in the Money in The Bank ladder match.

“Everybody‘s talking about LA Knight, and everybody’s pretty much coming to the same consensus. Yes, he’s a throwback. He’s a guy that’s definitely taking from what worked back in the day and bringing it today’s wrestling. I get it, what’s old is new again. He had a huge ovation at Madison Square Garden.”

Booker continued, doubling down on his belief that Knight could be a top star for the company by suggesting that WWE should “put the rocket” on him immediately.

“This guy is gonna is get over, whether he’s got a belt around his waist, or whether he doesn’t have a belt around his waist. He’s gonna get over. Put the rocket on LA Knight. Send him straight to the moon. That’s just my opinion.”

LA Knight also had an opportunity to comment on his MITB loss recently during a WWE live event, with the 40-year-old claiming that he’ll make himself a champion with or without the briefcase soon enough.

“I didn’t need that case either. Just like I made myself a top man in this industry in the same way, with or without a case. I will make myself a champion sooner or later, and there ain’t nobody that can stop me. That’s not an insult. That’s just a fact of life.”

Prior to joining WWE in 2019, Knight competed for both IMPACT Wrestling, where he became IMPACT World Champion, and the NWA, and thus should he receive a major push in WWE, it wouldn’t be the first time a promotion has gone all in on Knight.
