Heading into the recent AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, both companies were unfortunately dealt a number of injury blows that affected the card, with the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Tomohiro Ishii all being absent from the historic event. One top AEW star that did play a part on the show was Adam Cole, although the Undisputed Elite member would ultimately join the injury list following the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship four way, with the match ending abruptly as a result.

Fightful Select reported in early-June that Cole had been working through a multitude of injuries at the time, including a labrum injury, with these issues dating back as far as Cole’s AEW World Championship feud with Adam Page.

Speaking with Riju Dasgupta of Sportskeeda, Cole’s better half Dr Britt Baker D.M.D provided an update on Adam’s recovery, noting that Adam definitely needed the time off and is assuredly on the road to recovery.

“Well, he’s definitely recovering and healing, so I hope just like everybody else, that we get to see him back in the wrestling ring soon, but he definitely has to take some time to recover,”

As always, we wish Adam Cole the best in his recovery from injury, and look forward to seeing what’s in store for him upon his eventual return.
