AEW’s Christian Cage is reportedly expected to have surgery based upon the condition of his recent injury.

It’s believed that Christian Cage is dealing with a torn tricep, speaking recently on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer & Bryan Alvarez mentioned that Christian Cage is expected to be sidelined after surgery for a rather lengthy amount of time.

“He (Jungle Boy) did say ‘go get your little surgery’, so it has not been acknowledged on any programming, but Christian needs Surgery”

– Bryan Alvarez

“And His injury may be the exact same injury as Punk (believed to be torn triceps). So we’re talking again like an eight-month-ish, six-to-nine months of being out.”

Dave Meltzer

Recently, Christian Cage was victorious over Jungle Boy due to an assist in the form of Luchasaurus finally turning on Jack Perry and delivering him a massive chokeslam on the entrance ramp grate, Jungle Boy was thrown into the ring and summarily speared by Christian Cage for the 123.

It’s been reported that the match was fashioned specifically to protect the inured Christian Cage, leading to the bout lasting just short of an entire minute.

After months of mentorship, Christian Cage turned his back on Jungle Boy, in the wake of their tag team title loss to The Young Bucks, after the main event of AEW Dynamite on June 15th.
