An update on the injury CM Punk sustained during his match with Jon Moxley at this past Sunday’s AEW All Out PPV has been revealed.

CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley at All Out for the AEW World Championship, but early in the match, Punk hit a dive to the outside on Moxley, and as Punk got back to his feet, you could see him having a little discomfort with his elbow. At the time, some fans did notice Punk constantly reaching for his arm throughout the match, and some just assumed he was just selling.

After the show at the Media Scrum, CM Punk, whilst sat next to Tony Khan, created many headlines when he addressed some problems he has had with rumours surrounding himself and Colt Cabana. Punk made many comments about Cabana, Hangman Adam Page & The Young Bucks, airing his problems with all of them.

After Punk was finished at the Scrum, a backstage fight broke out in CM Punks locker room, involving Punk and many members of the Elite. Leading to suspensions for all involved, with CM Punk and Ace Steel reportedly potentially leaving the company all together.

In an update from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave confirmed reports that CM Punks injury that he suffered during his match is serious and he potentially could be out for up to 8 months.

“He may have already undergone surgery, but either way he’s undergoing surgery, and it was not confirmed to me it was a torn tricep, but it was confirmed to me that it’s surgery for a torn muscle in the arm, so it’s triceps/biceps, maybe pec, but probably triceps. And that’s usually about an eight-month recovery period. So he was gonna be stripped of the title either way, so that move was pretty easy to do.”

Dave Meltzer also noted when CM Punk is healthy to come back and isn’t fired, that there will be some people who will not want him back.

“Punk’s out for eight months, or whatever it’s going to be, six months/eight months, whatever. If he’s not let go, and a lot of people don’t want him back.”
