A talent meeting was reportedly held ahead of the July 8th episode of AEW Collision, with CM Punk leading the discussion.
This past weekend, Fightful Select reported that a talent meeting had been held prior to AEW’s Collision taping on July 8th, with the report also noting that the details of said meeting did not make their way to talent that weren’t present or those that are typically featured on Dynamite more often than on Saturday nights.
Fightful Select have now provided an update on said talent meeting, reporting that a large part of the discussion centred around how Collision has diffentiated itself from Dynamite. Additionally, the report notes that CM Punk is believed to have led the meeting, raising the question of how the show can further set itself apart, including match finishes, amongst other ideas.
“CM Punk led the meeting, and there were several topics brought up on how Collision could separate itself from what fans see on Dynamite, including the finishes of some matches. They went over what was and wasn’t good for collision, such as finishes, shenanigans and the like.”-Fightful
Fightful also added that the promotion of other AEW related products and shows was another topic highlighted at the meeting, as well as the recently implemented health and safety guidelines.
This past Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision saw both Ricky Starks and Willow Nightingale win their respective Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Finals, whilst FTR defeated Bullet Club Gold in a 2/3 falls match to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
