Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are undoubtably one of the best tag-teams in the professional wrestling industry today. The duo are currently on what many consider to be the run of their careers, holding both the ROH and AAA tag titles.
FTR claimed the ROH Tag Team Championships at Supercard of Honor XV on April 1st of this year, defeating The Briscoes in one of the greatest tag-team bouts in recent history.
Many had clamoured for the two teams to do battle for years, and the match certainly delivered on the night, with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter giving the match 5 stars.
Harwood recently appeared on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, and he had a chance to discuss the match with The Briscoes. Harwood considers the bout to be FTR’s Bret Hart vs Steve Austin, and admitted that the duo will struggle to top their battle with The Briscoes in the future.
“I told Dan [Cash Wheeler] after the match was over I said ‘that’s our Bret/Austin.’ I really do not know if we will ever have a better match than that one, and that is something I am okay with. I can hang my hat on that one, I can hang my hat on that whole week, The Briscoes and The Young Bucks match. But specifically that match, I can hang my proverbial wrestling hat on that match and say ‘this is what I do for a living, this is my legacy and this is why we are the best tag team in the world.”-Dax Harwood
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are set to face off against one another on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite in a qualifying match for the Owen Hart Cup. CM Punk will serve as the special guest commentator for the bout, and the pair are sure to deliver another classic.
