At this past Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, Claudio Castagnoli was revealed to be Bryan Danielson’s mystery replacement for both his bout on the night with Zack Sabre Jr and the upcoming Blood and Guts match set to take place tonight on Dynamite.

Now a fully fledged member of the Blackpool Combat Club, Castagnoli will team with Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Eddie Kingston, and Proud & Powerful tonight against the Jericho Appreciation Society, although the Swiss Superman’s long and contentious history with Kingston may ultimately lead to the team’s downfall.

Speaking to MLive, Kingston revealed that he was less than pleased to see the former Cesaro be revealed as Danielson’s replacement on Sunday.

“Of course I didn’t like it. I don’t trust the guy. And people who say whatever they want to say about me, that I’m a hothead and I don’t let things go. I just know when I see bad people, I like to call him out on it.”

During the closing moments of Forbidden Door, Claudio and Kingston could be seen yelling at each other, before Kingston walked out on his own.

As far as Kingston’s gameplan for tonight’s Blood and Guts match is concerned, he revealed that he plans to use the cage to his advantage.

“You’re not gonna see me come off the top of the cage, I’m gonna use the cage as a weapon. I’m going to kick, I’m going to punch, I’m going to bite. I’m going to try and make you quit. It’s called ‘Blood & Guts’ for a reason. Is there gonna be blood? Most likely. Is there going to be guts? You know, we’re going to spill our guts out there in front of all y’all. It’s just a violent place (the cage) and Detroit is a violent city, so it’s just perfect.”

If the two teams’ previous encounters are anything to go by, tonight’s clash inside Blood and Guts is sure to deliver in terms of violence, and with Claudio Castagnoli’s arrival, its sure to be a bout you can’t afford to miss.
