Lainey Reid Says She Would Like To See A Stern Locker Room Leader On WWE’s Main Roster

Lainey Reid recently compared her stance on the locker room leaders in NXT and the main roster.
Since being paired with Fatal Influence when she first started in NXT, Lainey Reid has had a fast track to getting up to the main roster. Competing alongside Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne, the trio have dominated the competition and made their own impact haven risen from the developmental brand to Friday nights. Now, Reid has compared the NXT locker room to its main roster counterpart.
While appearing on Busted Open Radio on WWE Radio, Reid spoke about the transition from learning the ropes and working as a team in NXT to clashing egos and seeing who wants the brass ring the most on the main roster.
“I feel like NXT in itself, you find yourself more as a team. There’s competition there but, it’s not the same. I think once you get up to the big leagues and you’re dealing with a lot more money and a lot more star power, there’s a lot of egos. There’s a lot of people who think this is right or that is right. It is different in the sense of these people don’t really have your back and they don’t want what’s best for you.”

Reid would go on to talk about how she wished there was a go-to leader for the newcomers like she had during her time in NXT when she worked closely with former WWE talent Zoey Stark and Ivy Nile.
“Honestly, in a sense, I wish it was more so like that. I wish there was more of a — I don’t know if locker room leader is the word for it but, in a sense, I do wish there was somebody there that kind of made you — because that’s what it was when I came into NXT. There was people like Zoey Stark, there was people like Ivy Nile, and they taught you from the very beginning. They were just on you about anything. I remember being on my phone the first show and Zoey came over there and she rung my tail. I think we need things like that. I think we need people that stay and watch the show or we need people that make sure maybe the newest girls are the last ones to leave. I don’t know. I think there’s an order that I wouldn’t mind bringing back.”

Since they made it to SmackDown, Reid has gone on to pin WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella before becoming one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions alongside Fallon Henley. The duo pinned Paige and Brie on July 18 at Saturday Night’s Main Event to claim the gold less than three months after joining the brand.
Reid has been competing for WWE since signing with them shortly after she finished up her time at Jacksonville State University where she was an elite track and field star.
