Malakai Black will be in action in Edinburgh for Progress Wrestling’s Odyssey Tour on September 4.

With Malakai Black set for PROGRESS Wrestling’s upcoming Odyssey Tour, his first match since leaving the WWE has now been announced. The former SmackDown star will be clashing with an old foe who he has not challenged since 2018, Dijak. The two had competed against each other during NXT live events eight years ago, but the last time these two fought each other on the independent scene was at a Beyond Wrestling event that happened in 2016 where Dijak picked up the victory over the man formerly known as “Tommy End”.

On their X account, PROGRESS Wrestling made the match official.

Black made his return to the WWE last year and after one year, he was released after competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 17 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, he, alongside his wife Zelina Vega (Now known as Xelina) were both part of the releases and will both be on the show for Progress Wrestling next month for The Odyssey Tour. There is no word yet on who Xelina will be challenging for the event.

In terms of what else Black may have lined up in future, it was recently reported by Fightful Select that Black had contact with MLW with regard to working for the promotion. However, it’s believed talks didn’t progress. For now, whether anything changes on that front remains to be seen.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Malakai Black as soon as we hear more.
