Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks & Naomi have been absent from WWE TV since walking out ahead of the May 16th episode of Raw, with the pair being stripped of their titles and receiving indefinite suspensions on the following Friday’s Smackdown.
It now appears, however, that the recent corporate changes within WWE may have paved the way for the two to return to the company, as WrestlingNews.co are reporting that a deal has been reached to bring the duo back, with a possible return on tonight’s Raw potentially on the cards.
“WrestlingNews.co is told that an agreement has been reached for Sasha Banks and Naomi to return to the company. There is a belief backstage that we may see them return on tonight’s show or in the near future under Triple H’s regime.”-WrestlingNews.co
Last week saw Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter report that WWE are looking at trying to work things out with Banks and Naomi, and if this new report is to be believed, it seems as though all is well between the two sides, with the former Tag Team Champions’s creative issues having mainly been with Vince McMahon, an issue that is now absent with Triple H at the creative helm.
Since being vacated on the May 21st edition of Smackdown, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships have remained vacant, and thus a potential return for Sasha Banks & Naomi may prompt the company to reintroduce the titles.
The report is still yet to be confirmed by WWE, WWE sources or other news outlets. But as always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on this developing situation as soon as we hear more.
